We expected Pega SA would be easy to model partners (i.e. distributors, agents) organization in hierarchy/tiered structure according to p.18 in Sales Automation V74 Product Overview, however partners management functionality in Pega SA might be very very limited and unable to support our business. We found partners' organization and territory permission could not be modeled in the similar way like customer account/organization in Pega SA.
For example, we had an external agent (Partner #A) who help promoted and sold our Product-ABC in entire China market, Partner #B sold our Product-XYZ in East China and another Partner #C who sold our Product-ABC in South China only. Our sales rep located in different cities with their own sales territory respectively like North East China, South China, East China, North China, etc. Partner's organization hierarchy usualy not same with our sales hierarchy organization (territory), we don't know how to configure partner territory permission to our sales rep.
In this case, our sales rep in South China territory must be able to access Partner #A and Partner #C when he wants to create new opportunity of Product-ABC in his territory, sales rep in East China finds Partner #B only when he wants to create new opportunity of Product-XYZ in his territory, sales rep in East China needs to access Partner #A when he wants to create new opportunity of Product-ABC in his territory.
We have no idea how to implement the complicated partner organization (territory) to work with our sales reps territory. Looking forward to your help, thanks.
Rep can access opportunity If we make him as owner/team member to the opportunity even doesn't have territory access.
To provide access to multiple territories - we can delegate multiple territories through operator's access and permissions screen, here we can give access to sales territory and partner territory to the sales rep.
In SA 8.1 release, we have improved partner relationship management capabilities. provided sharing capabilities to share Account/Org/Contact to individual partner seller/entire partner organization.
