Can't pass value to control. Blue data input port greyed out (HOW-TO RESOLVE)

For example, this is commonly seen when using the forLoop component.

"Hi, according to the documentation here, we can set the limit for the for loop: http://help.openspan.com/80/Components/How_to_use_the_ForLoop.htm However, the only ForLoop construct my toolbox has does not allow me to do this. Note that Initially, Increment and Limit are set to constant (they are from the outset) hence none of the input ports are blue hence nothing can be connected to it. "

This can happen to any control with data inputs. The blue data input port will become greyed out when a value has been manually set.

You can regain the ability to pass data into the control by right-clicking the manually set value and selecting "reset changes".
