Thanks Eddie. I was able to load the VM in the VirtualBox. However, when I use prpc:8080 or the <ip>:8080 , nothing happens.
Any pointers?
Regards,
Siva
I, too, was able to load the VM in the VirtualBox.
However, when I try to access http://prpc:8080/prweb/PRServlet, or prpc:8080 or the <ip>:8080, or even the IP that the VM is giving me (10.0.2.15) -- it throws ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.
was there any solution to SivaP904's problem?
If you "google" for "ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED" you will see there could be a number of reasons, e.g., a firewall preventing access.
This link is from a Microsoft support site: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/error-message-error-105net-errnamenotresolved-the/7faea436-87db-415e-af88-b753171ffdb6?auth=1 .

Hi Siva,
You can run the PVS on OS X using VMware Fusion or VirtualBox. Fusion requires a license (although you could use the trial period for a few days) and VirtualBox is open source (maintained by Oracle). I would go with VirtualBox.
download VirtualBox for OS X and install it. Then, follow these instructions to run the VMware-based virtual machine in VirtualBox. If you have any trouble contact me directly at mocze@pega.com
The good news is that in just a few days, all of the virtual machines used for self-study will be moved to VirtualBox.
