Rule cache issues Websphere to Tomcat Migration Appserver to run in parallel
We working on the below business intent and are looking for the best applicable solution on it.
Business Intent:
As discussed in our earlier connects, We are working on a technical refresh initiative in migrating our Application servers from Websphere residing on AIX to Tomcat residing on the Oracle Linux.
We are planning to have a Pilot release for the Tomcat Servers in Production. so that instead of testing over weekend and creating multiple change tickets, we want to let business users test as per their convenience.
Problem Statement:
To accomplish this we need to have both the Websphere and the Tomcat instances up in Production. We have the environment constraints due to the differences to the rule cache build by the different Application servers.
Our Approach:
To overcome this constraint we are checking on the feasibility of having both Websphere and Tomcat instance up and running for a given Environment using the below approach:
- Tomcat Server instances to point to Application Rules Schema and Application Data schema.
- WebSphere instances point to a cloned version of the Application Rule schema but the Data Schema would be pointed to the Applications actual Data Schema itself.
Please let us know on any other approaches to solve the issue.
We are receiving the Java Classes invalid when importing the Rules Schema to the new Cloned one.
