SAE-II Exercise - Passing Parameter value in Filter condition in Report definition
Hi Team,
As a part of SAE-II exercise, I tried to add Parameter value in Filter condition. Parameter is defined with Name "Type" in Parameter Tab.
When I give Filter condition as ".Type - is Equal - Param.Type" and save it displays following Error message
Filter Value:
** An invalid comparison value or an invalid column has been entered for the right-hand side of a filter condition: 'A'. Enter a valid column, calculation, or literal value.
Is is possible to give Parameter value in Filter condition?
Thanks and Regards,
Malar
Please double check the declaration of the "Type" Parameter in the Parameter Tab of the Report Definition Rule. Please make sure that the data type selected for the "Type" parameter is the same as the data type of the .Type column you are referencing in the Filter Condition. Also make sure that the "Type" parameter is defined as a "Required" and as an "Input" parameter. Then Save the Report Definition Rule before referencing it in the Filter Condition. Once the Rule Definition is successfully saved with the "Type" Parameter, then add it to the Filter Condition. When selecting the "Type" parameter for the right side of the Filter Condition, please use the down arrow key on your keyboard and highlight and select "Param.Type" by selecting it with the Enter key on your keyboard (this will help ensure the syntax for the reference to the "Type" parameter is correct.
