What has the Pega 7 update experience been?

We have been Pega customers since PRPC 5.4. Upgrades from 5 to 6 and 6 to 7 have been painful an expensive. Nonetheless, I love that Pega innovates and that the recent shift to incremental updates nicely aligns with agile culture. I am finding that we need to break old habits an thinking. I am concerned our business and teams that have completed their last painful upgrade from 6 to 7 are sitting around waiting for Pega 8.

I am interested to know what other Pega users, who have completed their upgrade to Pega, are experiencing with incremental updates such as 7.1.9 to 7.2.2 to 7.3.1?

I appreciate learning from your experiences and recommendations!
