What is the significant added value of the Data Explorer?
Hi,
Am new to the Pega platform and am learning my way around the Designer Studio. In the chapter 'Best Practices for Managing Data' the Data Explorer is shown and used for creating a new data class definition.
After a bit of exploring i am wondering. Besides creating new classes, is there in practice other use for the Data Explorer?
It seems to me the Application explorer is much clearer in showing class structure and allows a greater scope of access (all up to @baseclass) than the Data Explorer.
Seems to me it would be convenient if data classes could be created from the Application Explorer. Then the Data Explorer would not be needed anymore? Am i overlooking something?
Thanks in advance!
The Data Explorer simplifies creating and working with data types and their corresponding data pages in your application. While you can view the data classes in the Application Explorer the Data class may also include other assets. The Data Explorer allows you to quickly see your data objects. See the properties associated with the data objects and also the data pages associated with the data object.
Hope this helps,
Sean
