Currently in Pega, when a user uploads file, the file attachment happens in a single thread, because of which for large files, user would see the busy indicator on UI for longer periods.
Instead, if we pass the file stream to a parallel or background and let it do the work, the user session will not be busy. The file upload progress happening on the new thread can be shown in a small pop-up.
Potentially to achieve this the attachment controls need to be uplifted.
The same can be applied to file attachment that happen in background threads like email listener or file listener which usually attach the files to work objects upon processing. Moving the file attachment to parallel thread will improve performance and avoid any alerts that usually occur in a single thread transaction.
