Multiple Winning Quotes in Sales Automation (for Insurance)
Currently, Sales Automation 7.31 offers only one Quote to mark as winning quote. All other quotes will be closed automatically.
Some of our (future) use cases will use the construct of combining quotes. That means, that for example in the insurance part, we will be offering bundles to customers, where the customer can decide, which single tariff to bundle. Another use case is in home loans: in many cases, we try and offer home loans (credits for building) and additionally products on savings.
In all cases, the quotes will be calculated in different calculators and we show them in Sales Automation as different quotes.
So for us, multiple quotes in the end can be “winning”.
The SAI application today requires 1 and only 1 product for these 3 objects - Opportunity, Policy, Quote.
There are a number of reasons, the key one is that Policy and Quote need to:
be able to map to multiple external systems of record (Ex. 1 insurance and home loans Ex. 2 life insurance and property casualty) and also
use OOTB Sales Automation features like - Engagement Maps, Forecasting, Dashboard widgets (Opportunity, Quote, Policy).
SAI also has the concept of External (Competitor) Quote. If you create an external quote and lose the Opportunity, selecting the external quote at the "winner" allows you to collect and have more information in the future about that prospect. Competitors can't be forced to bundle things in the same way you do.
SAI also created (Insurance) Product specific Opportunity AI insights (win score, NBA, etc.) SAI also has Renewal capabilities that are specific to (Insurance) Products (handle renewal reminders by product).
I realize that if you do not use the UI/Screens in SAI, you will not use the features listed above.
In your case, I would recommend having 1 product per Opportunity, with all of them sharing the same close date. If you want to have more than 1 Quote for the Opportunity, you can, but will need to select at most one (win or lose) at close time.
