Active x are not loading on Edge browser with PRPC 7.2 and 7.2.1
We are trying to test edit-attachment local action [OOTB] in edge browser, using PRPC7.2/7.2.1. To our surprise we are noticing that Open Author cab is not working in MS Edge browser. For that matter none of the active X are working in Edge browser.
As per the release notes, PRPC 7.2.1 is tested on Edge browser. However, due to the above mentioned problem, active x are not loading.
Please suggest on how we can install active x on Edge browser.
which states Internet Explorer 11 will still hang around for legacy support. This is key for enterprise web apps that are still dependent on technologies such as ActiveX Controls and other legacy web standards.
Currently we're on IE 11. However, we have an organizational mandate to use Edge browser which will be implemented sooner than later.
Working on attachments is still manageable but without ActiveX the screen-pop functionality of CPM framework won't work I suppose - which makes the call-centre employes clueless on how to receive an inbound call from desktop - this happens to be a far more serious issue for the stakeholders.
I am hoping Pega ActiveX SME folks will be kind enough to notice the ActiveX issue on Edge browser and will share an alternate solution for OOTB functionalities which has stopped working properly on Edge browser.
