Blue Prism and the data-test-id tag
Has anybody successfully worked with Pega and Blue Prism robotics?
We use the data-test-id for our automated testing and assumed that it could also be used by the Blue Prism robots. However we are being told that they cannot access it. I have confirmed that the tag is available in the UI to the robotics users but the Blue Prism developers say they can't use it?
Has anybody done this in the past?
Moderator Edit- Vidyaranjan: Updated Platform Capability
So the only thing that Pega provides is "data-test-id" and the robotics developers are telling us that they cannot use it. I really don't want to have to re-write my UI to use different controls just so the robots can read it.
Has anybody else come accross this issue and has solution that doesn't involve me updating my UI?
Here is an update for anybody else who has this issue.Blue prism cannot read the data-test-id element.
If you really need to have them read your screen then you will have to use different controls. An easy way would be to use the formatted text control and then set a dummy class value that is unique that the robot can then find.
However in our case we refused to change our screens for them and they ended up having to work around it with a report..
I am facing issues to use data-test-id attribute in Selenium java. I tried using the specified above(data-test-id) however this is not working as expected. Selenium is not finding the element using the data-test-id. When i google it, it says selenium is not returning when the attribute has 3 hyphens in it. Link below.
