For a high availability environment the Pega HA guide states there are certain minimum requirements for load balancing function including session affinity, health monitoring, and also the capability for the Pega function called Quiese to interact with the load balancer to indicate that you want t take an application node offline. Is there documentation or guidance available in order to select the appropriate capabilities between the Azure Application Gateway, Azure Load Balancer, and Azure Traffic Manager in order to meet Pega's minimum requirements? Essentially can these 3 provide the necessary combination of capabilities in order to properly enable Pega's HA requirements. Or do I have to look at deploying a virtual F5 load balancer in order to accomplish it?
We have this issue also. I have read https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/azure/jj151530.aspx and this suggests creating a custom URI that returns a non 200 HTTP response that the probes monitor and can then be used to remove an app server from rotation. However how would you do that within PEGA? Especially since it would be application server specific.
