Thank you for the help but this is a link to a completely separate and unrelated issue. This issue is about the program "Runtime" not executing and not about reading instructions in the file. I have a solution in robotics studio that I have deployed, but in order for me to finish connecting my solution to my Pega project; I need "Runtime" to boot up and to access relevant records in "Runtime" after I establish connection to my Pega project server. I have also made all of the necessary changes for RPA in the studio.config, common.config, and runtime.config files. I'm having trouble trying to figure out why "Runtime" will not open. I also have <add key="AllowRunWithNoPackage" value="true" /> in the runtime.config file.
The Runtimelog you attached indicates that it came from version 8.0.1089. This line in your description make it a little unclear as to what software you have installed: "I have just installed Pega Robotic Runtime version Pega Robotics Studio 8.0.2014.0".
Please answer the following questions to clarify this issue:
1)Do you have both Studio and Stand-alone Runtime installed on the same machine?
2)What version of Studio is installed?
3)What version of Stand-alone Runtime are you using, if installed?
4)Are you loading a project created in version of Studio into a Runtime of a different version?
Please note that solutions created in 8.0 (8.0.1089 in your case, as shown by the runtime log) are not compatible with any version of Runtime 8.0 SP1. The opposite is also true.
I went through the process of deleting old files. I uninstalled Robotics Studio, Runtime, Pega Native Foundation, and Visual Studio Shell Integrated and Isolated. I then installed Visual Studio, Robotics Studio version 8.0.2015 and Runtime version 8.0.2015. After rebooting the computer, I verified that Studio worked correctly and re-deployed my project. I then tried to open Runtime which immediately created the same exception file as described above. Am I missing something? I am uploading my config files as well.
When using Pega Robotics 8.0 SP1 (8.0.2xxx) having both Studio and Stand-alone runtime on the same machine is not supported. This is because they both cannot make use of the same Pega Native Foundation installed on the machine. This is most likely the cause of the issue you are experiencing.
If you need to load a deployed project to Runtime on a machine that has Studio installed you will need to use the Runtime that is included with that Studio installation. The executable can be found inside the installation folder which is by default C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenSpan\OpenSpan Studio for Microsoft Visual Studio 2015. There is no difference between the Runtime executable in this folder and the Stand-alone Runtime that you would install.
You will need to uninstall the Stand-alone Runtime from your machine.
