What factors need to be considered when changing the default response timeouts on predictions in 8.5? One factor I am aware of is understanding that the longer the response timeout window, the more data needs to be stored. Are there any other general considerations?
One change I am considering is shortening the Predict Web Propensity window to 90 seconds or possibly 5 minutes (down from a default of 30 minutes). This seems more than sufficient for a real-time channel. But there may be a reason that a default value of 30 minutes was chosen.
I would keep it at the default 30 minutes. There should be no impact if a response does come in within the 90 seconds and if you happen to have stragglers, they will also be caught. Why is it that you are considering this change in the first place?
Thanks Saleem. I was considering changing it because intuitively 30 minutes seemed too long, but wanted to double check my assumption here, and I'm glad I did. I'll recommend that the setting stays the way it is.
