Check for PDF document
My requirement is to health check an application to see if a PDF is generated or not on a button click.
The Adobe reader is not present on the server so the document is displayed as attached screenshot.
Even if Adobe reader is installed , I am unable to interrogate it to know if indeed its a PDF document. Is there any alternative how to verify that PDF is generated on button click. Also, there is no way I can save it to disk to open and check with PDF connector.
You should be able to get the window text. Interrogate the window frame (check the Windows tab in interrogation).
You could try opening the PDF in a new tab and then interrogate the File Menu options to "Save as...". Then in automation, you would do a PerformClick on the settings button and then invoke the PerformClick on the "Save as..."
To interrogate it, you need to add the IE Browser Frame as a control and then right-click the control in the object explorer and do 'Add Menu Items' then click the settings icon and it should populate the dialog with the options to add.
