I am trying to access the VM in Oracle Virtualbox(5.1.22) running on Windows 10. The issue is it is not populating the ip address of the VM when it boots up. It was working well earlier. There was a windows security update which got installed yesterday and from then it is not working. I even tried uninstalling the Oracle Virtualbox and re-installing but that did not work even. I deleted the VM and re-imported the appliance, still it is having the same issue. I am also attaching a screenshot of the same issue.
I have just upgraded my PC to the latest release of Windows 10 and I got the same error!!!!
Tried a couple of things:
1. Changed the networking to bridged, that worked!!! Settings->Network select bridged adapter from the drop down.
2. Go to File->Preferences->Network
select Host only Networks tab
right click on the adapter and select Edit Host-only network
Check, the IPV4 Address it should be the same as your PC (do ping -a on the address). It was the same for me. However, when I selected the DHCP server tab, the Enable server check box was not selected.
