I know that sending data in a UDP call using netcat (as described here) works. Is it possible to configure a (connect?) rule to send a UDP package to a server or do I need to use some specialized java code for this? I saw The Render URL API but no URL (endpoint) for feeding the data to Graphite-Carbon. So my guess is that you would need to write some java code, at least for feeding the data part.
