User appear in lync will be taken care by Lync client only. From Pega Portals we can initiate Lync chat with required contact (we have tried with single contact - but your requirement is to start group chat - need to explore options provided Lync protocol) by clicking on a link which in-turn opens locally installed lync client.
The chatting part is fine. I need to identify the users of a given region as well. Here's the use case :
"User in APAC region logs in. Depending upon his/her timezone, he/she should be notified via Lync chat about the cases pending in his worklist and that the urgency is getting spiked up.."

But I am still trying to figure that how will I figure if that user belongs to a APAC region.(can be done using IP...? ) and also if I can avoid messaging user via websocket and could use Lync chat rather.
