I am using an RTE to produce search results (in a repeating grid) and the amount of results I receive are inconsistent. I would like to provide a predetermined amount of text such as 3 lines followed by an elipsis ... for each result set that exceeds 3 lines. Is there a way to do this in an RTE? If so, how?
The data I am recieving from my report definition is formatted with an RTE at the source so I need to use one to display it. If an RTE cannot be used this way, what is a workaround - to use custom HTML/js?
Are you formating the text that is to be displayed? I am trying to understand the usage of RTE control in Repeating Grid. Instead of RichTextEditor control, how about using TextArea(A text area is an area in which the user types or pastes one or multiple lines of text, without formatting the text.)
Refer the attached document showing how to restrict the display of content of TextArea control to 3 rows. Does this help at your end?
Thanks for your response. The problem is that I am using an RTE at the source - the person that inputs the data uses HTML code as well as text when inputting the data. I need to display the data in search results and the only way I can find to do that effectively is with an RTE. The problem is that the results are incosistent (some blocks have more data than others) so to make my search results look neat I need to limit the results to 3 lines. I can't use a text area because it displays all the <br> <p> HTML tags along with the text.
If I can't display HTML text with a text area or limit the results in an RTE to 3 lines, what are my other options?
