Work pools are referenced in access group instances.You can achieve this by creating a Report definition on your Work Class (Work Pool). Say Eg: ABC-FW-XYZ-Work. This class will have cases from Parent and child cases.If your specifically looking for a query see the DB table associated with Class in Class definition rule, that should help.
