We can customize and add tasks listed in the add task drop down present in Development stage in Merge criteria (Continuous Integration) part but we can not add tasks to the development stage in Continuous deployment part of pipeline.
Currently customers can only add an existing task listed in add task drop down. But we are planning to give the task infrastructure frame work in future release via which customers can create their own custom tasks and add their tasks to the pipeline.
A manual task can be added in a pipeline and assigned to a user, so that the assigned user can approve/reject the task via email. Deployment will stay at manual step until the assigned user approves/rejects it.
