Dashboard question - > How to open a new work case with some pre-filled information

Hi Community,

We have a workflow which contains several forms. During the initial stage/section, after selecting the application type, it will go to that corresponding section. However we have a new requirement where in the dashboard, we would like to create a work case for that workflow while already being selected that application type.

So we have 4 different applications in 1 case type so we would like to create a menu and a submenu where the menu is the case itself and the submenu's being the different application type. Would anyone be able to enlighten with some examples of how to start/create a work case with a property already filled in?
