I am implementing a requirement that asks to change formatting on our date picker. Old formatting was default of DD/MM/YYYY. New formatting is DD-MON-YYYY. I have changed the read only format on presentation tab. This works great when selecting a date from the date picker. If I select Nov 11, 2018 it will display as 11-Nov-2018 in the text box. However when manually entering a date into the text box (11-Nov-2018) I am getting an error that this is not a date format. I have tried creating a new control to implement this format and have yielded the same results as well. However if i manually enter the date as 11/11/2018 then when I tab out of the box, it will automatically change to the correct formatting (11-Nov-2018). How can I allow for manual input of the desired formatting to be accepted?

It is pega version 7.2.1. I tried the UI gallery and behavior is the same although I am unable to modify any configuration within the UI gallery to specifically state I want a certain format. I have included screen shot for reference.
Thank you for the information. I will reproduce the same in 7.2.1 and will let you know. However, in UI Galler there will be an option "View Design time configuration". You can open that section, do a private edit and check.
We have the same problem. Our custom format is yyyy-MM-dd.
Everything displays correctly in that format if the user selects a date from the calendar picker, but the control does not allow a user to TYPE IN a date in that format and we get that validation error when we click out of the field that says "2019-07-10 is not a valid date value", though clearly it should be.
