I am currently using the version 8.0 of Pega Robotics and I always have the issue with speed when I am debugging the solution using the F5 button or the Start button on the ToolBar. There is no issue or error that comes up but the automation runs very slow even when its not interacting with an external application and reading an xml file for example.
Is there anyway to speed this up? Any setting which is I am missing in the set up?
Unfortunately no. There is some overhead debugging that will cause it to operate slower. If you have not already, I would encourage you to use the FilePublisher setting to enable logs. When coupled with the parser described at the post below, you can get a pretty easy-to-read log of all the automation steps.
You might also try to place breakpoints at strategic places in your automations and continue between them.
If you are simply testing, start the solution without debugging (Ctrl + F5). That will run at normal speed but you will lose the ability to apply breakpoints. There is obviously a trade off in speed when you what to debug. As Thomas said, enabling logs and using a log parser will give you a complete picture of what is happening in your solution.
