Delegate exercise does not have access group options nor editing ability showing for HRManager@TGB
Senior System Architect 7.2
Exercise: Delegating Rules to a Business User
The exercise guide states that the delegation of the SLA should be assigned to HR users managing delegated rules. When I type this option it gives me the Invalid Access Group
The only option is: Administrators for the HRApps application
Also, when I login with operator: HRManager@TGB, I do not see the Configuration choice in the left navigation pane or a way to modify delegated rules. I suspect there's a configuration element missing but it is currently not apparent.
You may want to revisit the exercise Configuring application rulesets to ensure you have added the HR_DelegatedRules ruleset as a Production Ruleset to the HRApps:Managers access group found in step 7.
I think you missed a step in the Creating a New Application version exercise.
"Update all of the access groups that reference the HRApps application to use the new version of the application. "
I do not believe you updated the HRApps:DelegatedUsers access group to reference the HRApps:01.01.02 application. In the next exercise we add the production ruleset to the HRApps:01.01.02 application.
Once you do this you will see the "HR users managing delegated rules" in the list and be able to delegate the rule. In addition, when logging on as HRManager@TGB you will be able to see the Configuration link on the left panel as HRManager@TGB is associated with the HRApps:DelegatedUsers access group.
Thank you for your responses. I am quite sure I did all that and even verifying after the course was complete, the results still aren't as expected.
I will reset my VM and start from scratch, to see what happens. There wouldn't happen to be a difference from exercise steps within course from the downloaded PDF would there? I followed all instructions from the online exercise guide.
So, I reset the information and did both steps. I was positive I did all steps as described (and what both of you pointed out). But it would appear that I missed something slight item; perhaps me not logging out/in after making the changes. Because one thing I did notice is that when I skipped to the Delegating rule step, the proper choice was available (HR users managing delegated rules) in the delegate steps.
thank you to both for your assistance. and definitely hinting at user input/memory error. :)
Yes, that table, with data, is there. That was another thing I noticed originally was that the drop down was not being populated. It was almost as if something didn't take and I either didn't see the error that occurred or it didn't work as properly.
that part wasn't crucial to the learning part of the assignment so that's why I didn't bother investigating further...
That's good. I means you are not having an outdated image. As you suggested, it is probably a good idea to re-extract a new copy of the image and start again. Make sure you complete the Configuring application ruleset exercise (and the one that Sean mentioned) carefully, and ensure all HRApps Access Groups have been updated to the new HRApps:01-01-02 application.
