Designing a User Interface to collect more information and showing review screen with edit link to update collected information
I have to collect information of new Employee. Like, Name, Contact details, past educational history, work history, reference details, passport details, visa details, bank account details etc. Once the details are collected, all the information should be shown in a consolidated view with a link under each section.
I have tried an option to collect the information in a screen flow. I am able to collect the information but i am not able to design a consolidated review screen convincingly. For example, Showing the same section which is used to collect input in Read-Only form makes the display little odd. Also to provide an edit link, should I need to create a bunch of boolean properties to toggle in the visible whens of each section?
Hi Evita - Thanks for the reply. I want to show the screen read-only initially. Screen has multiple layouts and each layouts contains few sections embedded. For example if I click the 'edit' link under 'Employment History', screen should make that section alone editable and others should stay read-only. I can create some boolean properties for each section and toggle between read-only and editable section for the link associated sections. But i would like to know whether thats a best practice to do.
Thanks Evita. That was very helpful. Is there a good way to achieve it outside the screen flow as well because i have a requirement where some of the info captured in the screen flow by a data entry operator can be edited by a reviewer or approver.
Outside of screenflow , you can include the section "pyCaseActionAreaButtons" which has navigation buttons. This section is included in the Perform Harness, but you may use it wherever you need it. Or add buttons in your section and use the same script as set for the buttons in the section "pyCaseActionAreaButtons".
