Detecting Deprecated Code at Run Time
We originally developed applications in Pega 5.x. After several upgrades over the years, now we are in Pega 7.2 and continuing to 7.4 (and eventually beyond).
We want to try to clean up our references to deprecated code over time. We would like to be able to turn on alerts for deprecated rules we have referenced at run time when we want to test for that. Does anyone know if such a thing is possible? This would help us identify spots we need to fix, as to manually search would take lots of effort with the size of our applications.
If rule has any deprecated controls or if rule deprecated then PEGA will show guardrail warnings and we can fix most of the rules based on warning summary. Please verify the attached screen shot for sample reference.
Thank you for the response. Will the guardrail warnings include rules that have not been saved since prior to a guardrail applying to it? Example: a section references a control that is not marked deprecated. The control is then deprecated 6 months later. Will the section show in the guardrail warning list?
