Error while interrogating infopath form - Access is denied. HRESULT: 0x80070005
I am attempting to interrogate an InfoPath form. The template for the form is located a server and accessed through SharePoint. I set up a windows adapter which points to the path of the InfoPath from template, but when I interrogate it I get this error from Visual Studio: Access is denied. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070005 (E_ACCESSDENIED)). Full stack trace in attached image. I am wondering if this is an access issue to the server where the template is located or if there is something I can do in OpenSpan/Visual Studio to resolve the issue.
Are InfoPath forms typically interrogated with a Web adapter (since the form appears with tags) or using a Windows Adapter (since the InfoPath Application is a window)? On a side note, although this error message occurs, controls can still be created using the 'Web Controls' Tab > List Browsers and Frames and List Web Controls> Selected Web Control method. (You cant Highlight, but you can Test Target methods)
The adapter type is determined by the base application. For instance, if you need to start the application by running an exe you would typically use a Windows Adapter but where a URL is required to start you would use a Web Adapter. There are some special cases where you might want to use a Windows Adapter for web but those are rare.
If you are interrogating a web page within a Windows application, you will still be able to interrogate them as web pages. In the case where the interrogation cannot see inside of the host web control (as you are describing) you will need to use the Web Controls Tab.
