External and Community Access groups and users - Roles and Permissions
We are using Pega Knowledge 7.22. The OOTB access groups and operators have been mirrored in our built on application. The implementation and user guides do not describe the portals, roles and permissions of those External and Community access groups and operators. Does anyone have a description of them that can be used to determine which ones should be used as model operators for our end users?
Here is a gist of when each of these access groups are used
1. When a user navigates to helpsite anonymously we give them the access using ExternalKMAG, which is given in the requestor type(browser) , so this access group allows user to read only access of helpsite and community site
2. when a user sign's up to our community site , then upon signup his operator record will be created and he will be given KMCommunityUserAG which gives the user to write posts/replies/comments in community site which he signed up for and also give read access to helpsite
3. When a user is banned by Moderator in a community then his/her access group changes to KMCommunityExternalUserAG. This again gives the user read only access to both community and helpsite.
I've added a Word doc with a matrix of all the main Pega Knowledge and Pega Customer Service operators, related Access Groups, and a description of each role. This will help understand what roles these apps offer out of the box, and can be saved up and modified to meet your needs. Also, all of the Access Groups in the applications are visible under the Designer Studio menu Records>Security>Access Group. The Roles assigned to each Access Group can be drilled into to see specific Privileges, which must be viewed in the system due to the amount of privileges supported in the applications.
