I'm new to Pega marketing, please bear with me for the basic questions.
1. How the external data that might be from external/internal Data base is loaded into the segment so that we can apply criteria on it to further filtering that data?
Typically as an enterprise you will have a data mart of you customers and Pega Marketing is configured to point to that data at installation/implementation time. Enterprises will typically refresh this data either by data operations like regular ETL processes, or if your operational processes allow for it, through manual upload of the data (see the data management pages of user guide here: https://pdn.pega.com/documents/pega-marketing-722-user-guide - see page 405).
What if the customer data to be changed that is been configured during the installation time, after some point of time in future?
I'm not sure if my understanding is correct or not, please correct if it is not:
The specific data class is used for mapping to the segment. That class is mapped to a data base table. So if any data is updated in that table, that reflects the segment data. In the PDN course everything starting from Segment but I didn't get how the external data is being dumped to segment, hence I'm asking this question.
