We have plans to migrate to Pega cloud (8.3 version) from on-premise and currently we connect to external DB (SOR) tables for updating and retrieving customer info by mapping external DB tables to Pega data classes. While all this is possible on on-premise pega platform, we would like to know if there will be any limitations to connecting to external DB tables on Pega cloud platform?
Our external DB is Oracle DB server and ideally it should be possible by importing oracle jdbc driver on pega cloud platform and doing required configuration but we would like to know if that is allowed or there will be any limitations on Pega cloud platform.
As long as the application server is able to access the external DB there will not be an issue. You can test the connection from the DB instance that you have created. If there are any issues in connecting to the external DB please get in touch with our cloud team.
