I would like to know whether we can able to generate read only PDF through PEGA. We have a requirement as we need to generate Mail correspondence as read only PDF. Typically, we can say that all the pages in PDF should be image. Kindly share your inputs on this.
There is no OOTB way to render a correspondence as image on PDF. However, you may customise PDF creation with an empty password on the PDF and the receiver will not be able to modify the PDF and it will ask a password when trying to modify via Adobe PDF Writer. Its not full proof as you may still modify that PDF via some other third party tools.
Is there any specific reason that why you want PDF content rendered as image?
We have a requirement like we need to send the generated pdf to external system where they will convert pdf to html.We have open issue in Word and Pega that the font we configured in html will shring when we render them as pdf. Decimal font size will be appear when we convert pdf to html which will not be processed by external system . SO we would like to convert each page as an image/snapshot in pdf so printing images will not have an issue at externalsystem
If you were to use HTMPtoPDF, where it refers to a section and generates a PDF, there is a workaround where you can make all the fields in the section as read-only before you generate the PDF, that way, it would create a read-only version. You might need to evaluate this option though, I am not entirely sure.
