How to internationalize application with Chinese and English
Now we have a requirement to switch two kinds of language in an application. In fact, we have achieved this function with two sets of language sections.I have done some searches in PDN, but still have no idea about another method to finish this function. Can we use metadata files or some other ways to complete the internationalization in pega? Our pega version is 7.2.1 .
Should we purchase Chinese language pack ? Now when I try to Localize application, the default configuration for Language Pack Available is no . Is there any guidence for us to translate application?
In fact , I have had a look on this article and tried to translate our application from Chinese to English language , but it still didn't work .I don't know what I should be careful for . I will try in some other way (maybe different configuration) today .
After I imported the English language zip pack , the following information was shown:
Your translated values have been imported successfully!
You can test the translations using Locale Settings option in the Tools section of User Interface.
To display the Designer Studio & Case Manager portal in translated language, change the Locale property in the Operator record.
According to this , I changed the locale setting from Chinese to English , change Default locale of Operator record to English , then lauched the application which had been translated , but I still couldn't see the transation in the section .
Another question, can I switch the language by pressing a button in the page of the application, or some other way , rather than doing lots of settings in pega?
Once done, you could re-run the localization wizard.
Also, can you please confirm the below:
1. On updating the Locale settings are you are able to see the details in English language?
2. Did you log out and log in, after changing the operator locale?
To answer your question, you cannot switch the language directly, however, you could have a button or link, which on click, could change the operator locale. Take a look at the below article for more help on this:
