How to open the generated Excel File without downloading?
I am generating Excel File using OOTB activity MSOGenerateExcelFile. This activity generates and downloads the file to user's machine but my requirement is to Open the generated Excel file upon Button click without downloading. Could anyone please suggest a solution for this?
Thanks Rett. I am looking for a solution that can be implemented from Pega so that users don't have to change their generic system settings. I was able to achieve this for PDF generation by making a minor change in the OOTB activity 'Code-Pega-PDF.View' which is being called in 'pyViewAsPDF' activity. I am looking for something similar to this.

I don't really know the answer to your question, but the excel file is really an HTML stream that excel can read, so in theory, if you can tweak the rules that generate the stream, and instead of sending them the to client, you pass that onto the clipboard and call some sort of show HTML method, you should have what you need. Although I have no idea what it looks like directly in a browser, so it may need to be formatted to look pretty, but that's where I'd start.
