Question
How PEGA uses infrastructure server OS?
Hi,
We are currently on PRPC 6.1 SP2 and it is deployed on Tomcat web server. Our infrastructure server(VSI) hosting the Tomcat has RHEL 5.x operating system.RHEL 5.x is EOL firm wide and we are asked to migrate to a new infrastructure that uses RHEL 6.x . But, the platform support guide for our version of PEGA shows compatibility only till RHEL 5.x. How is deploying PEGA tied to the underlying OS? What dependencies/ implications does it have? Appreciate your responses.
Thanks,
Sravya

Hi,
If the vendor no longer supports the platform, Pega does not want to be in the position of trying to support Pega on a desupported platform. From the Platform Support Guide:
It is certainly possible that PRPC will work on desupported platforms. We are just not testing it, so it is no longer listed in the Platform Support Guide. You should understand that you are staying on the unsupported version at your own risk.
