Thanks for your clear explanation, but i was trying to understand the use of "Search using report definition" option in section. I could not see that option in the document you shared. Please help. Did i miss anything
Just want to understand a little more about this feature. So when we use this option dont we pass any param value? Is it like it pulls everything from DB . No use of where clause? As we are not passing any value to Param.
Also can you please explain what you meant "Here I am using the auto complete field value to Name parameter for the report definition" in the document.
@Pavanir, if you look into the Auto complete field properties screen shot in my document for Name parameter in the report definition "Use for SEARCH" checkbox is selected which means the Autocomplete field value will be passed to the Name parameter in the report definition. That is the reason the results are being filtered based on the where clause. Try to do the similar configuration and enter the specific record field value then list will be filtered to display only that record, in my scenario i use Starts with filter criteria hence it is showing all the records which are started with the entered text. Let me know if you still has any doubts.
The attached document Autocomplete using Report Definition.pdf has clear steps to implement, do you have any questions on this ?. Results are filtered by entered value in autocomplete box, you can trace it and try to extract the database query.
