If someone else has worked with it, they may have specific guidance, however I have not. If it is a mainframe app, then check to see if it supports HLLAPI. If it does, you might be able to work with it using a Generic text adapter. If it is not a mainframe app, then you might need to do some investigation to see what technology it was built with. Is it .Net or Java? If it is either of those, you may be able to create your own UI Connector that you can use to interact with the controls. If it is neither of those technologies however, you might need to request a translator via our support team.
The application I'm trying to work is Viaduct Fx , a terminal emulator. But I'm not able to resolve above issue. Please find some information on Viaduct application and you / someone please suggest on this issue.
Does the emulator support HLLAPI? I couldn't tell from anything I searched for, so I suspect not. If that is the case, you are likely not able to automate it. You could switch to a different emulator though and that would work.
If it is an emulator, then you might try switching to one that supports HLLAPI. You could also contact your Pega account contacts and make a feature request to add specific support for this type of application. That would start with a support request though, you you might open an SR and see what support says. That would be longer term though and changing emulators might be quicker; especially if this is for an RPA. Perhaps you could also post some screenshots with any confidential data redacted as that would help us ensure we are actually talking about an emulator.
Hi tsasnett , I was able to integrate Viaduct application as windows application. Able to interrogate toolbar, add menu items similar to notepad application and the screen as a control region only. So trying to use OCR functionality to get /set data in which, able to use HighlightByOcr, GetValueByOcr methods. But with SetValueByOcr , inspite of the cursor is focusing the position correctly we are unable to set value over the screen.
We are not permitted to post any screenshots. Could some please help, we need urgent guidance to solve this issue. Thanks.
Without touching the application, I have no suggestions. My suggestion would be to use a different emulator that supports HLLAPI. You can engage our services team to see if there is anything that can be done, or request a product enhancement.
