Interrogating Mouse-over Drop Down Menu
Hello Pega Community,
I am attempting to interrogate a website, and have run into a problem with a menu that drops down when you mouse over it. With the target selected for interrogating, the mouse-over event does not occur, so I cannot select the object I am trying to get. When selecting the main "button" of the drop down, I get an error message. I attempted to select that and try to use match rules to get the correct object, but could not get that to work. The screenshot shows the drop down and the error message. I am brand new to Pega (this is my first project). Can someone point me to a tutorial or give me advice on how to overcome this obstacle? Thanks!

Hi Durga, thanks for the response. I tried using a web app and interrogating with IE, and using a universal web app and interrogating with chrome. I run into the same problem with both browsers.
I do not know how to check the configuration of the drop down. How can I find out more about that?
Also, looking forward, I am going to run into this exact same issue with another webpage. It is a PDF displayed in a browser. I will need to save it, but once again, the controls (save, print, zoom, etc.) are only displayed from mousing over the document. I cannot get the target to interrogate something that disappears. This seems like it should be a common type of interrogation, but I cannot find any posts about it. Can anyone point me to information or help me solve this challenge?
Typically, the mouseover windows just expose hyperlinks already present on the page. You can't interrogate them directly with the bullseye. Instead, you would use the Web Controls tab in the designer and locate the controls that way.
Yes! Thank you very much, this helped me get the right controls. The control doesn't have a unique hyperlink, rather it pulls up a form with no change to the URL. I have tried several methods and combinations of methods to activate the control (normally just a mouse click without the automation piece) performing a click, focus, enable, etc., and haven't been able to get the automation to bring up the form. Do you have any recommendations for other things to try?
I do not have any recommendations without seeing the actual page. I would suggest you open an SR with our support team, so someone could look at this page with you. If you do open an SR, please post the SR number here for tracking purposes.
