Is it possible to skim Revision Application Ruleset? Regarding pySubmitRevision performance problems.
Hi, In our marketing revision ruleset we have a alot of rules (13k) and allot of rulesetversions (~460). We presume that this causes some performance issues regarding the Revision Management proces, creating and submitting revisions and change requests. Activity pySubmitRevision takes allot of time. Multipe minutes.
I was wondering if it is possible to skim this ruleset like any other?
Kind regards,
Joost
Hey Joost,
Hope all is well. Like any other ruleset the revision ruleset can be skimmed. It is not a process I have actually done before so I don't have the best practices around skimming but if you have any concerns you should reach out to GCS for guidance.
I checked with team on this, they had a couple of things for you to be aware of
- Skimming decisioning rulesets which contain decision data has thrown a few challenges for customers in the past. In particular around the regeneration of the edit element. This isn't a revisioning issue, instead a general decisioning one.
- You would need to update the overlay app with the latest skimmed ruleset version
- You would want to conduct skimming in BOE and in Production to keep in sync
I suggest that it might be a good idea to reach out to GCS via an incident to get the skimming best practices before starting on this endeavour?
Cheers, Alex
