I have a case that has case wide local actions defined. In a flow in this case I have two assignments. The assignments are configured for TreeNavigation7 Harness. User may pick a local action from the Actions dropdown button while working on the case. Since I am using TreeNavigation7, the case action button area is fixed at the bottom and does not scroll. Everything is working as expected so far.
However, when a user opens a local action from Actions dropdown, the local action buttons do not appear on screen. Instead the flow action buttons that were there before invoking local action stay on screen.
Is this expected behavior? If not, how can I fix this? If it is expected behavior, how can I show local action buttons?
Can you please elaborate the issue with screen shot if possible? It looks like this is expected behavior where the flow action buttons remain on the screen. You can try hide these flow action buttons on each local actions if you don't want to display on selecting the local actions by user. I hope it makes sense.
From what i gathered from your requirement, you want to display the local action buttons instead of the flow action button. Please let me know if i am wrong.
If i assumed correctly, you can update the below highlighted settings in your local action (flow action rule). These settings are used to hide/unhide or even customize the default button for local action modal layouts.

Your assumption is correct. I do want to show my local action buttons instead of flow action buttons. I am not sure if checking "Hide the default action section buttons" on local action (flow action rule) will hide the flow action buttons. I tried it and it didn't work.
Alternatively I was thinking about showing the local action in a Modal window. But the problem with this approach is that these local action links in Action drop down are generated at run time. I looked at the Navigation rule on "Action" button but implementation won't be simple as these actions load local action harness using a script.
Just to clarify one thing, if the flow action buttons you being displayed from pyCaseAreaActionButtons section, then you can remove the automatically by launching a modal window or case wide local action, because they section is part of you perform harness section.
If you have custom action buttons in your sections, they would have been automatically hide when you launch your case wide local action as those action button are specific to the particular section rule.
With pyCaseAreaActionButtons, I am not really sure if what you need is exactly possible unless you put a visibility when based on some custom business logic.
