Location of Knowledge Base in Interaction Portal

By default, Knowledge Base is located on the right hand side of the portal as an expandable window which expands on click of the help icon "?".

I see in some screenshots that the Knowledge Base is located on top. Is the reason to move it to the top because agent can see complete 360 view of the customer ?

And is there any option to expand the Knowledge base to full screen. I know we can open the articles in full screen. But is there any configuration to expand the Knowledge base to full screen.
