We are creating a new branch application for a team, but it is throwing an error requiring at least one Ruleset.
This is not correct based on this Pega7 Help. Is there a HFix available for this? We are using ML8.
Creating a team application
First, create a team application that is built on the main application by doing the following.
In the Application Explorer, create a new application rule by right-clicking the application and selecting +Create > Application Definition > Application.
In the Create Application form, enter the name for the application in the Label field.
Enter a version in the Version field.
Select an available ruleset into which to save the rule from the Add to ruleset drop-down box.Note: You can update the ruleset for the application using the Advanced tab on its rule form. It has no effect on the teams using branches for development.
Click Create and open.
In the application rule form, in the Name field, select the name of the main base application.
In the Version field, select the version of the main base application.
Select the Include Parent checkbox.
Ensure there are no items listed for the Application rulesets before saving the rule form .
A warning appears in the rule form to alert you that the application rule is saved to a ruleset that is not part of the application's ruleset list. This situation is acceptable for a team development application. To remove display of the warning, you can use the Add Justification link.
I tried this scenario in my local machine by following the below steps :
1) I have created a Main Application and logged into the main application with the Administrator operator.
2) Navigated to App explorer and created a Branch Application by following your instructions.
3) After 8th step that is Include Parent check box i tried clicking on save button but an error has been thrown to select at least one Application ruleset. As per my understanding if you create an application directly through Application Express wizard default application rulesets will be included in the Application rule form. However, in this scenario we are creating a branch application on top of Main application and we have manually selected the base application name and version in the Application rule form. I believe we need to manually select at least one of the base Application rulesets as well , because the Branch Application is built on top of Main Application.
This is working as Expected. Kindly select the Base Application ruleset/rulesets and save it.
However, it is now throwing this Moderate warning. Should this warning be removed if a Ruleset is configured again in a branch application? Seems like a product glitch in OOTB guardrail compliance tool?
