Need best practices on the use of DDL Generation on SQL DB objects for Pega 7.4 DB update
I have a customer who is seeking best practices information and feedback from the technical community regarding the use of DDL Generation to create, modify, and remove SQL database objects such as tables, indexes and users on migrateSystem and setupDatbase properties scripts provided by Pega for a 7.4 database update.
The customer's DB2 team and DBA's also highly recommended generating DDL scripts to keep a snapshot of the database structure in their production environment.
Is there something specific you're looking for information on? It's fairly common for the generateDDL script to be used as part of an upgrade. Database backups could also be used in case of issues during the upgrade.
