A single Node level Data Page, if appropriate, consumes less JVM memory than N Thread-level Data Pages that contain the same data. Plus the database or service used to populate the Node-level DP does not need to be re-accessed until the next acceptable refresh, for example, 24 hours.
A Node-level DP can provide a starting point for subsequent finer-grained queries. A Node-level List DP can be configured to use indexes to provide ready access to an in-memory sub-page or sub-pagelist.
