Not able to establish a Inbound SMS connection
I have created an outbound SMS account and I am able to send SMS through it. But while configuring the Outbound SMS with the same details, I am constantly getting a Failed status. I am configuring the outbound SMS account with the following details:
Host Address: IP of SMS gateway
Host Port : Port of SMS gateway
Inbox Addrress : Incoming SMS number defined in SMS gateway (702700)
IP Address: IP of SMS gateway
UserID password as provided.
On checking the network trace, I see the following error from SMS gateway:
Operation: Bind_receiver - resp (0x80000001)
Result: Invalid system_type field (0x00000053)

I was reviewing your case and could see that inbound SMS is failing in spite of sending account Type as 173.
The version 7.12 of the product supports only "Text" for the system type.Local change in this case is overriding an activity (InboundConnector) and would result in a upgrade issue if not removed correctly.
Currently the UI in Inbound SMS is doing a data-type validation and not accepting numeric values. It might be a valid request to remove this validation to avoid local change.
For creating hotfix for this issue SR-B12833 has been raised.
We are also using pega marketing 7.12 and facing same issue with Inbound SMS configuration where we are supposed to give numeric Account Type but pega isn't allowing us to, as a result our inbound sms is failing unless we hard code it in the java code.
