I didn't see this reply before I replied. If you can interrogate some of the controls then you should see stuff in the Web Controls tab. So just for my sanity...confirm this for me... when you go to the Web Controls tab - by default nothing will show. Did you first click "List Browsers and Frames" and then selected an item (if there is one). Then click "List Web Controls"?
No worries :). And the answer is no. We already went through all the possibilities we could come up with. This is in fact a windows app. We open it trough an .exe file. So nothing shows up when we go tot the Web Controls section. List browser and frames does not provide a list with pages so we can select anchor tags, or something else, like in the situation that we are interrogating a web application.
In the Windows section, it does list some "windows", but nothing related to the actual interface.
Also, we are using a test version of the app, so it should not have any restrictions for this type of interactions.
The only thing that is matched is" MUSE_30_LeftParenSTGRightParent", which is the whole window of the app.
If we just hover the mouse cursor over a button, it becomes highlighted. However when we try to drag the interrogation target nothing happens. Like there would be no action.
Hopefully I explained it in more details now. Is there a possibility that the app does not allow interrogation due to some built in security measures?
Okay, well the screenshot shows the HTML factory hooked, which means it's basically a Windows app with an embedded webpage. Normally, you'd be able to access the frames through the Web Controls tab but there might be something peculiar with this app. I think you should open a Support Request to get an official opinion after letting them review it over a WebEx.
Well, it looks like the application is web-based. All the controls can probably be found under the Web Controls tab on the adapter. You can also try Select Element on the interrogation bulls-eye to get to the control you need.
If you're not sure what you're looking for in the Web Controls tab. I'd recommend grabbing the outer html from the webpage control. Then you can look for exactly what you need (like a certain tag with certain text) and then find it in the Web Controls tab.
