Openspan Management console procurement
I need to move my open span robotic desktop automation version 7.1 to robotic process automation 8.0. what needs to be procured. Also the RPA needs to be installed in the server on our premises. Also let me know the server configuration and the advisable number of bots per server.
In order to migrate your 7.1 project to 8.0, you will simply need to upgrade the existing project using the 8.0 version of Pega Studio. The 8.0 version of Pega Studio and Runtime does not require OpenSpan Managment Console to be ran. You can run both software independent of the cloud based package system.
If you are planning on running the robot on a terminal or Citrix server, then you should only need to install one instance of the Pega Runtime on the machine and allow multiple instance of the robot to run on the machine using the runtimeconfig.xml settings.
The number of users connected per server is going to be determined by your Pega solution's average memory and cpu consumption and your server's workload capacity. In other word's, not all solution projects are created equally so you should monitor for the cpu and memory usage of one robot instance and accommodate your user connectivity accordingly.
Can we still use Openspan Management console with 8.0 version?
we are building new Desktop automations and want to deploy on Openspan server (just like we used to do with version 4). Also please confirm if we can still install openspan server on a local server having IIS and SqlServer
