Hello! I am looking for the an article that describes the weekly standard maintenance activities that needs to be performed in order to maintain healthy PRPC production servers (Application/Web server and the DB server), any reference to such posts is much appreciated. I tried to look around in PDN and haven't had any luck so far and so reaching out to the community.
I would say that the frequency of restart will vary from application to application.
I have seen customers who prefer to have a daily restart , but most of the clients prefer to go for a monthly recycling of a server. They chose a particular day of a month ( preferably weekend as the number of users tend to be less ) and perform the monthly maintainance activities.
Coming to the documents, as I said, it varies from system to system, hence we donot have any such written policies. But I guess the System Administration Specialist Course in pega academy can help you with some more inputs on this.
Our organization is new to PRPC and we were looking to get some initial recommendations on the maintenance activities from Pega to support some of the initial applications that are moved to Production very recently.
I agree with you that each application is a different animal and will probably need different maintenance schedule. But I suggest that Pega provide some initial guidelines to help customers like us, who are new to Pega space.
Ofcourse Pega provides initial guidelines. Did you have any Pega consultant who worked with you in the project ? Mostly they are the one or the lead system architect of the project suggest the maintainanace activities .
