I want to send a secure text (password) over a RESTful call to another system. Does pega provide any OOTB encryption system? I see encryptPropertyValue() function used to encrypt a property. But how will this value get decrypted at the other end?
Is it possible to decrypt the value in the application which is at receiving end? Because i am sending encrypted value over the network and other application has to decrypt it. Other application will not have decryption functions and keys pega has.
As per my understanding there is no OOTB encryption/decryption process for the parameters in Connect REST calls to the external system. To secure your data, you need to enable SSL for your REST service in your external system and try to connect via SSL which provides you secured connectivity.
