Hi All, Any one can help me how to check and read server logs files. How we can get that error messages in logs for particular server. When servers are alerting then how to identify root cause for the work cases.

Hi Jyothsna,
If you want to analyse pegarules & pega alert logs then you can use logviewer.Server logs are not exactly same but similar to pega rules log.You can find exception details in that.If feasible can you share it & let me know what do you want to analyse in that.
Thanks,
Abhinav

Thanks abhinav for reply. We have servers some time we will get alerts on those servers. We will login to servers via remote desktop in that we have pega rules logs and pega alerts logs. While checking those we are not getting error root cause so where we can check for exception. Also we will get pega logs upto last 1 hr. It will display the results of current time stamp.

Hi Jyothsna,
Which type of alerts you get generally, Is it the same every time or random. Please let me know how much memory is configured.Search for "thread dump" in pegarules logs. Please share those logs with me.

When I search for thread dumps in pega rules file I didn't get single message. Mostly when I check na
1. Remote Connection was forcibly closed by requestor
2. Soap connected failed
3. Cannot insert null values into some table name bcoz the column in this
table cannot allow null values
4. Problem in retrieving of data
These are most observed messages.

Hi Jyothsna,
You can download it from designer studio,system-->operations--->logs.You can also get it from server team.If you are on pega cloud then download it from self service portal.
Search for "free" in logs, You will find size of memory as Total Memory & free memory.
Thanks,
Abhinav

Hi,
If those logs contain confidential information then I would suggest you raise an SR.
Thanks,
Abhinav

Thank you Marissa. SR is not required as of now.

If you are facing issues while working on Cases, you should perform the problematic scenario and then immediately check the at that time the logs that are generated. This will help you look at only the logs you for that scenario.

Thank you Rachit for your response.
Your questions are too generic, do you have particular logs needing us to review?
